ABTRACT

Digital instrumentation and control system can provide important benefits in many safety-critical application, but they can also introduce potencial new failure modes that can effect safety. Unlike electro-mechanical system. Whose failure modes are fairly well understood and which can often be built to fail in a particular way, software errors are very unpredictable. There is virtually no nontrivial software that will function as expected under all condition. Consequently, there is a great deal of concern about whether there ia a sufficent basic on wich to resolve questions about safety.

A greater understanding of the measuring equipment and the instruments can improve the performance of the operator and this in turn will improve plant performance. Better knowledge of how equipment is selected and how it is constructed and how it functions will help an operator to identify the causes of problems and prevent their recurrence. This course explain about Logic Function, Component, operation of instrumentation digital system, troubleshooting.
