ELECTRONIC SAFETY SHUTDOWN SYSTEM (SSDS) OPERATION
Jogjakarta Plaza Hotel | 18-21 Februari 2013 | Rp 8.500.000,-/ participant
OVERVIEW
Provides information and practice to understand the use of the master status panel (MSP) and local control panels (LCP’s) to locate and tag the first out process shutdown event, manual by passes, classess A, B, C, D by passess, process alarms, feedback diagnostics for valves and pumps, and miscellaneous shutdowns. Information on ‘token’ passing, watchdog timers, and data highway plus communications on the SSDS is covered. Proper use the MSP and LCP’s can reduce the downtime associated with an event and provide information to prevent future inadvertent shutdowns.
OBJECTIVES
The MSP and LCP panels provide a wealth of process troubleshooting and optimizing information to the operator. Many platforms lose vital information about their process when operators reset shutdown and alarms without understanding the first out indications and feedback announciators on the MSP. The DAS systems, due to the to,e lags in information gathering, doesn’t provide adequate alarming information to determine the order of event in a shutdown situation. Repeat shutdowns and long shutdown times result from the lack of information. This workshop provides training on how to glean the maximum information from the panels to provide quick return to service and the potential of preventing future shutdowns.
